EASTER ISLAND

E1 5b / 28 metres

Film: 1 hour 2 minutes

The soaring pinnacle takes centre stage beside the river in Dovedale, crying out to be climbed. A route of “character” that will captivate or repulse depending on your preference, building into a fittingly steep finale.

Ed Drummond put this route up in 1972. He was a climbing poet, always in search of adventurous outings. Easter Island’s certainly that, and has been on my list of routes-to-do for a very long time.
